Elks Scholarships

Each year, the Elks National Foundation awards more than $4 million in college scholarships to high school seniors across the country. At the Philipsburg Elks Lodge #1173, we proudly support these scholarship opportunities and encourage local students to apply.

Through both national competitions and local Lodge awards, we’re helping the next generation pursue higher education and reach their goals.

National Scholarship Programs

Most Valuable Student (MVS) Scholarship

Open to high school seniors who demonstrate leadership, academics, and financial need.

Awards range from $1,000 to $50,000.

Applications open each fall at elks.org/scholars

Legacy Awards

$4,000 scholarships for children and grandchildren of Elks members.

Applicants must demonstrate knowledge of the Elks and a commitment to service.

What’s Included?

Scholarships are not limited to only colleges and universities. They also include technical schools that offer certifications and licensure across the commonwealth.

Local Scholarships

In addition to national programs, the Philipsburg Elks Lodge also awards local scholarships to students in our area. These are funded through Lodge fundraisers and member donations.

Local applications typically open in the spring. We give scholarships to Philipsburg-Osceola, West Branch, and Moshannon Valley High Schools. Awards are based on academics, community service, and financial need.
