Elks Hoop Shoot

The Elks Hoop Shoot is a free, nationwide basketball competition for kids ages 8 to 13. Sponsored by the Elks National Foundation, the program teaches kids the value of hard work, dedication, and sportsmanship—all through the fun and challenge of free throw shooting.

Each year, over 3 million children compete at the local, district, state, and national levels for a chance to be crowned the best free-throw shooter in the country.

Hosted by the Philipsburg Elks Lodge

At the Philipsburg Elks Lodge #1173, we’re proud to host our annual local Hoop Shoot competition. Kids from our community are invited to compete in a fun, supportive environment where effort and attitude matter just as much as skill.

Winners from our local contest move on to district and state competitions, with a chance to reach the national finals held in Chicago.

Why It Matters

The Hoop Shoot is more than a competition—it’s a chance for kids to build confidence, meet new friends, and push themselves to improve. Many participants say the experience stays with them for life.
