What is the Elks Hoop Shoot?
The Elks Hoop Shoot is an Annual Contest to promote grit & healthy competition among kids. This program has been happening every year for more than 50 years. Winners of local contests will move on to compete in District Competitions, then State, then Regional, and Then the National Finals.
When is the Hoop Shoot?
The Philipsburg Elks Lodge is hosting our annual Elks Hoop Shoot. This event will take place on January 4th at the Philipsburg-Osceola Senior High School. The doors will open at 9:00am for Registration and the contest begins at 10:00 am. All boys & girls ages, 8-9, 10-11, & 12-13 are eligible to compete. Open to any child from any school district, provided he or she has not competed in another Hoop Shoot already this year (2025).
Do other Elks Lodges Host Hoop Shoots?
Each local Elks Lodge will host their own Hoop Shoot. This is one of the major programs that every Elks Lodge takes part of for the kids. As Elks, we support growth & development of kids in our communities. Kids are only permitted to participate in 1 Hoop Shoot per year, no matter which lodge Elks hosts it. Basketball Hall of Fame
Each year, six Hoop Shoot National Champions will be crowned. These six champions will have their names & picture listed in The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
How to Sign Up for the Philipsburg Elks Hoop Shoot?
This is the 1st round, Local Contests. Registration begins at 9am on January 4th, the day of the event. Show up at 9, register, and start competing at 10! We look forward to seeing you there!
